My Brave Boy

Kyle has been doing great! We're still working on calmly walking away from the apartment, BUT he loves the trails and the dog park.

We went to our first adoption events this weekend. Friday night was a big improvement. He just buried his face in me and hid from the world. Then Saturday afternoon we tried again with his thundershirt on and Mamah as his escort. He did so great!!! He was complimented by all of the other fosters and everyone was so excited to see him accept treats from strangers and actually sit with the other dogs and volunteers. It was an AMAZING day!!!

PLUS... I got an email from a couple that wants to meet my big baby!!! YAY!!!

Walking in the Woods

Walking in the woods like the cool kids... Kyle is gaining his confidence one walk at a time. Will and I took him to the park for a fun walk with Mamah. Nature seems to bring out the best in him.

WE WALKED!!!!

I got Kyle to walk this morning!!! After the usual panic attack, I decided to try a new strategy. Armed with a dose of calming treats and his new thundershirt, I carried him into the car and drove to the other side of the apartment complex. The dogs and I got out and played "find the apartment". He even forgot that the world was scary a few times and sniffed some bushes along the way. What an awesome day!!!

Kyle is a shy sweetheart with a lot of love to give once he feels comfortable. He’s looking for someone who is willing to be patient with him and reassure him that the world is a safe place for puppies at play. Kyle is a wonderful dog. He is working on his housetraining and seems to be crate-trained. He loves his crate. He also knows some basic commands like sit and is working on new ones to impress you with when you meet him! He adores yummy treats so he is learning quickly. Kyle has a very submissive personality and enjoys being with other dogs. In fact, he’d be an ideal second dog because furry friends help him feel safe. Kyle is a rare treasure for anyone willing to put in some extra love.

UPDATE: Brindle Belle

Belle has really settled into her new home and they love her already, but how could you not?!

They sent me this email and picture today:

Hi, Echo!

Belle is definitely a love bug.  She's settling in well and getting
used to her surroundings.  She is such a sweet girl!  We are so happy!
Right now she is sleeping on her blanket on our bed surrounded by her
toys.  She gathered all of her toys and put them on our bed.  She is
definitely a squirrel-hunter and loves going for walks on the paths
around our house - very inquisitive!  I've attached one of the many
photos we've taken.  :)

Thanks for letting us know about the medical records.  We'll be on the
lookout!  Hope you're week is going well.  Thanks again!!
